My Seeds - This summer I have been intimately excited about a flower growing in my garden. I had planted some seeds of this flower for years. Each year – throw out some seeds – no flower Next year throw out some more seeds – no flower, again next year – no flower. This year I determined not to give up –one last effort – I only had a few seeds left. So this time I decided to do something different – I prepared the soil with some of my organic compost, I planted the seeds a little under the soil – instead of throwing them on the top. And then I watered the seeds every other day. To my surprise little bits of green started poking their heads from the soil. But was it my flowers or my vegetables I had planted in the same area? But my heart told me - “Don’t pull it” – let’s wait and see. Sure enough - when the blooms formed and opened up – my heart exploded. Why did I get so excited about a flower? Those seeds had been given to me by my mom almost 10 years ago. I still remember seeing them bloom on her patio – in fact they would reseed themselves every year and keep coming back for her enjoyment and beauty on her patio. Almost one year ago I said goodbye to my mom and she slipped into heaven. I miss her more than I thought was possible. But this year I was determined to give these seeds every possible chance to not only survive but to bloom. The beauty in these flowers represents the beauty of my mom. Your Seeds Sometimes we want health but yet we throw our hopes in the wind – maybe this supplement will work, maybe this food will make the difference, maybe this work- out program will be the ticket to success. Too many times we start a program only to give up right before it was ready to burst forth in bloom. Does that describe you? Are you ready to really do it this time? Are you ready to weigh less for the rest of your life, feel better for years to come, breathe better in your home, _________ - you fill in the blanks. What are you missing and what are you willing to do to see your health bloom? To be honest – there are days that if I wasn’t teaching healthy living I would have given up. The culture we live in makes this challenge difficult. But I found it was my focus – focus on biblical success and it is easy. Focus on the struggles and you will never achieve the pinnacle of success you really deserve and desire. Getting started – Getting planted
This is the basic building block to our success. Join me as we garden together in our health and in our finances. Together they shape our future. Wednesday, July 16 2014
BE INTENTIONAL
I thought Hazel, my youngest granddaughter, needed a little entertainment as she bobbed along in her carrier attached to me. But when we realized we were lost on the trail and our only map was now in sticky bite size pieces plastered all over Hazel’s face I knew we were in trouble.
As we found the right trail, Lillie and Stella, trying not to break camp rules of no complaining just kept saying as we hiked further into the woods – “I wish Hazel hadn’t eaten the map!”
![]() But our perseverance paid off, we saw this eagle perched above her nest with young eaglets in it!
I just returned from Camp Graca. It was a fun time doing camp with my granddaughters. We hiked, climbed, played, did crafts and hiked some more.
It seemed no matter how much we hiked or explored they knew they could eat their trail mix any time they wanted. This made them very happy. And since they put it together themselves from the nuts, seeds, fruits and granola I provided, I knew it was healthy.
BE OBSERVANT
Our memory verse for camp was:
The earth is full of the lovingkindness of the LORD.
Psalm 33:5
As we explored, our goal was to see how many different ways God shows us His lovingkindness. It is all around us; in the trees, under a rock, in the water, in the air and also in our trail mix.
His lovingkindness is there for us to enjoy.
BE AUTHENTIC
This summer be intentional about looking for and enjoying God’s lovingkindness.
Be intentional – be observant – be authentic.
Summer is the best time to enjoy fruits and vegetables FRESH!
Fresh from the garden is the best way to taste and savor – discover and experience the excellent of their kind.
Blessings to each of you,

Beautiful skin and extra energy all begins in one special place in your body. Transform this one place (organ) and you will change your whole life! Then learn how one organ can make your daily experiences more vigorous, dynamic and effective. This organ is like the gatekeeper to your happiness. It allows in what your body craves and guards against what your body disdains. It gives you that extra skip in your step and the extra curl in your smile. The saying “If Momma ain’t happy then nobody is happy” could be applied to this organ “ If it ain’t happy then you will never be happy”.
This organ, the most active organ in your body is the liver.
It is assigned with over 500 different tasks including its central role in processing, storing and redistributing the nutrients provided by the meals we eat. If the liver’s numerous roles are upset by liver damage or disease the effects on health and nutritional status can be profound.
An example of this is fatty liver disease which did not exists 20 years ago and is the reason for over 25% of all liver transplants today. And yet, this disease starts and ends with your fork. That means most health problems can be avoided if we learn how to care for and rejuvenate the organ vital to our youthful living.
This organ when it is sick will make you unhappy in more ways than you can imagine but yet it itself rarely complains. Check out the list below of symptoms a sick liver can manifests and yet we treat the symptoms not realizing the liver is the one behind the problems. Most liver diseases go unnoticed for years before the organ finally cries out “enough is enough”, “I can’t cope any longer” Then you have a full blown disease with sometimes little hope of recovery.
Today you can give a hand to this overworked, non complaining organ. Read what it does for you, then read what symptoms can result from it being overworked. And finally give it a break every year in the fall by allowing it to clean house without the interruption of more toxins and food coming through the pike. It is hard to clean house until you stop bringing the dirt in even if only during the time of cleaning. Who can mop a floor when your son’s baseball team has just traipsing through with their muddy shoes?
Give your body a break, rejuvenate your liver and you will be rewarded with:

Passover – Easter – the most significant day in history – how do you prepare for such an event? Resurrection Sunday is an event worth getting ready for! Not just buying new clothes and hiding Easter eggs but more. What would happen if your family planned and prepared for 6 weeks for this special event? How would it change the take-away for your kids? What impact would it have on their lives? Did you know that every Biblical Feast has a direct correlation to God’s plan? The Passover is clearly the story of redemption of the Israelites but it holds a greater prophetic picture of God’s plan for a world redemption! Folks – that is you and me – that means pack your bags – never mind you wont need them – that is something to shout about! That is something to make sure EVERYONE is ready for! This is not about a bunny, eggs or ham! This is about REDEMPTION!v Today marks 6 weeks till the event of what is typically known as Good Friday, when many Christians celebrate the crucifixion of Christ. Last year in our newsletters we addressed the actual timing of the week and the accuracy of the events in correlation of the Scriptures and Jewish calendar. I want to invite you to join me in taking these 6 weeks and prepare your heart, your family, your congregation to be ready for this miraculous event, the Passover and Resurrection of our Lord and Savior. The finest way to prepare is to clear our mind of worldly distractions and utterances. 1 Corinthians 11:26 – For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes. Secondly, I am going to be more honoring of the Sabbath. This has always been a difficult dilemma with my career. My schedule includes teaching on both Saturday and Sunday and when I teach I also sell products. I am making this a time of prayer and commitment. Except for classes I am already assigned to teach I will be honoring the Sabbath from Friday evening till Saturday evening. These are my steps to prepare my heart for the most important day in history. Wednesday, January 22 2014
Paleo Diet, grapefruit diet, HCG diet, the sprinkle diet, the lose weight while you sleep diet, diet, diet, diet. Every day there are new rules and new diets. When I was a young wife and mom I tried every diet out there and bottom line they each worked but only for a short time. I continued to gain weight, feel lousy all day long and have no energy. Now I have years of experience to still agree they don’t work. These diets never answered that one question constantly playing in my mind: If I was created for a purpose by a loving God, wouldn’t food have a biblical guideline to match the creation? As if descending down on a cloud the answer came – the rules to eating I could live with and not only live but worship and glorify. Worship rules? Yes, when they are such as these:
